| Die Premiere des ersten The first time for the European Surf Festival Makkum from 09.10.-11.10.2009 was a very great success! 18 exhibitors were presenting the latest stuff over 3 days on the beach.
Not only the new equipment for 2010 was a reason to visit the festival but also to meet the World Champion Josh Angulo, Kauli Seadi or Klaas Voget.
11.000 visitors had a lot of fun and a good mood at all the eventdays.
On Saturday in the evening was the big and great premiere party of “Four Dimensions” in the big party tent with a big screen and about 700 windsurf-fans directly on the beach.
On Sunday the weather was very nice with good wind conditions and nice sunshine - perfect for testing the ne stuff!
And also the F2 Speed Challenge was able to start. The fastest guy of the weekend was Otto de Jong with a topspeed of 68,86 km/h. Way slower, on the second place was Jan Willem Baan with 59,47 km/h. On third place Erik Loots with 57,27 km/h. The winner could happy about the first price - a F2-Missile sponserd by Open Ocean.
Also the Open Dutch Championship on Sunday was a highlight. The open contest in the discipline Formular Windsurf was won by Voncent Langer (D). Second place was taken by Richard Konstapel (NL) and the third place was taken by Josh Angulo (CV).

Stephan van den Berg, first Olympia-Winner in Windsurfing, Josh Angulo, Kauli Seadi, Brawzinho, Klaas Voget had cut the band on time.

| The Stand-up Paddle Board Battle at the European Surf- Festival Makkum We and Fanatic are very happy to invite you to the Stand-up Paddle Board Battle..
Stand-up Paddling is a new water sports discipline and brings a lot of fun especially on windless days. Paddling while standing on the board is easier than you might think and takes just a few minutes to learn. Apart from the relaxation effect paddling is also a good full body training – Nordic Walking on the water so to speak.
At the Stand-up Paddle Race different teams will race in a small course competing on the Fanatic boards FLY 10.0 und 10.6.

At this time the Dutch windsurfer is trying to change his actual position in the discipline Slalom in a higher level of the ranking at the Worldcup Sylt.
If there is no good wind conditions, the 29 year old spend his time to mountain biking and snowboarding.
At the European Surf- Festival Makkum he will share his windsurf knowledge with the visitors and give autographs.

| Josh Angulo taking part at the European Surf-Festival Makkum! Presently the leader in the discipline Wave Josh Angulo comes to the European Surf-Festival Makkum. Therefore the chances are good that we should welcome the Wave World Champion of 2009 in Makkum: either Josh Angulo or Kauli Seadi.
Josh will not only bring his new 2010s boards for testing with him, it also has Capverdian Fuana dancers and a Capverdian DJ from the Netherland. So he let the sun shine in Holland.
Josh, lives on the Cape Verde Islands, had a lot of successes in the past but not only in the past: This year he had a victory at the Cabo Verde contest in the discipline Wave.

| Andrea Cucchi at the European Surf-Festival Makkum We’ re very happy to welcome Andrea Cucchi as guest at the European Surf-Festival Makkum. The Italian worked 10 years in the equipment development for major brands and is now Chief Executive Officer of the sail brand Point 7. Point 7 established since 2007 and was presented the last years at the Surf-Festival Fehmarn too.
But even his results in windsurfing have been impressive: several top 5 positions in the PWA & Eurocup, ISAF World Champion, Podium at the Europeans of Formula Windsurfing as well as in the World Rankings. 11 Italian Championship titles.

| Kids Fun Cup at the European Surf-Festival in Makkum Also for the young audience is a lot on offer: at the Kids Fun Cup turns this time all about Fun Freestyle. Anyone can participate because the fun is in the foreground. The jury will not evaluate the most difficult trick but especially the most entertaining show.
There will be two age groups: Guys and Chicks (15-18 years) and Boys and Girls (14 years and younger).
Like the last time there are many fantastic prizes to win.

| Kauli Seadi is taking part at the European Surf-Festival Makkum! After visiting the Surf-Festival Fehmarn 2008 & 2009 - the Brazilian Kauli Seadi will be directly after the World Cup Sylt come to the European Surf-Festival Makkum/Holland.
In his luggage will be the new 2010s The FLY sails and his 2010s TWINSER Waveboards. In addition to numerous autograph-sessions, also he is sure to report about the new 2010s NeilPryde sails and JP-Australia boards.
In 2008 Kauli was able to secure his third world title and convinced the jury with his flamboyant wavestyle.
Maybe after the World Cup Sylt he comes to Makkum as the new and old World Champion in the discipline wave. In any case we can be excited and perhaps it`s a reason to do a big brazil party on the festival.
Kauli will daily be at the NeilPryde /JP and at the SURF tent for giving you autographs and interviews.

| F2 Speed Challenge 2009 in Makkum Who’s not dreaming of a race against the fastest windsurfer in the world? The F2 Speed Challenge will bring this dream closer to you at the European Surf- Festival Makkum. Everybody, who’s been standing on a surfboard, can compete against the clock!
The GPS system of the F2 Speedteam will give you your personal time.
The fastest Speedsurfer of the event days will be the owner of a brand new F2 board! The F2 Missle Board is sponsored by the F2 importer Open Ocean.
The participators could start with their own equipment or the equipment of all the exhibitors at the event area.

| Brawzinho at the European Surf- Festival Makkum We’ re very happy to welcome another guest at the European Surf- Festival Makkum.
The 20 year old Marcilio „Brawzinho“ Brown from Brazil has announced his visit!
He has started to windsurf at the age of 4 years. Also his father and his uncle were windsurf pros and showed him to windsurf.
Brawzinho is an exceptional talent and is considered as one of the best and most talented windsurfer in the world in 2 discipline s : wave and freestyle.
In 2007 he became Freestyle PWA World Champion. In 2008 he finished the PWA Freestyle World Tour as runner-up.
In Makkum he wants to hook up with his fans. He will be available for
autographs and interviews.

| Dennis Littel at the European Surf- Festival Makkum 2009 The dutch champion Dennis Littel is going to visit the European Surf- Festival Makkum. He takes part at the Open Dutch Championchips, which is one of the highlights of the event . At the surf-Festival Makkum, not only on the water he will be showing a great performance, he will also have enough time to give everybody an autograph.
The 27 year old Dennis Littel (sailnumber NED-13) ha s started windsurfing at the age of 6 and celebrated his windsurf competition debut in 1999. His favorite Surfspot is Maui.

On top of the ranking is Dennis Littel, champion of Netherland. The races are depending to wind and will be battled in Formula Windsurfing or Slalom.

| The Beach Resort Makkum The event area is about 9000m² in Friesland, directly at IJsselmeer on a mile long and clean beach called Campground “Holle Poarte”.
This place is favoured by the windsurfers in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany because of the constant wind and knee-deep water.
If the wind comes from west a steep wave originates which is good for jumps and short wave ridings. At the mile long promenade of “Holle Parte” you will find roomy parking spaces near the water, knee-deep water and many surf schools and shops.
So it’s not surprising that surfers come from all wind directions to that great place.
Near the campground you will find supermarkets, several restaurants, takeaways and boutiques.
At the Festival the exhibitors get the opportunity to present their equipment of the 2009 season for the first time to the public audience.
From the airport in Amsterdam it takes an hour to reach the event area. | |
